Idea S.r.l. is the result of an industrial project started more than thirty years ago, which was initiated in 1978 by the creation of the CACAO brand. Furthermore, in 1986 the business was defined by the acquisition of the PAPERMOON brand. The industrial group, headed by the Danieli family, overtook the company in 2003 and since that point of time the business revival has started.

A radical organizational renewal was undertaken, the launch of an ambitious development policy of the Italian and international distribution network was achieved, the opening of the present location in Montebelluna (TV) took place with the size of 20,000 sqm. The business center includes logistics facilities, storage and advanced quality control and above all, the "creative workshop" for the innovative product concept manufacturing.

In 2010 IDEA expands its brands Cacao and Papermoon with the production and distribution of collections of Tru Trussardi Junior, Think Pink, Rifle and Harley Davidson: a "fashion center" with the three major orientations “fashion, casual and sports” was brought into being.

Finally, in 2013 IDEA extends its project with the licenses for the brands Miss Sixty, Energie and Murphy & Nye by entering into a strong partnership with the KFG, the leader of the German market, and becomes one of its distributors. The KFG consists of a multitude of brands, some of them being Kanz, Pampolina, Steiff, Döll, Lemmi, Melton, Königsmühle or Käthe Kruse.
